Recently, we had the opportunity to upgrade a CCTV surveillance system for one of our long-standing customers.
What makes this project special is that the original Hikvision CCTV system was installed by IT INHERIT approximately 10 years ago.
Throughout this period, we continued to provide technical support and maintenance whenever required.
When the customer decided to renovate their home and modernize its security infrastructure, they trusted IT INHERIT once again.
10 Years Later – The Original Installation Still Demonstrated Quality
During the replacement process, we inspected the existing CCTV cameras, cabling and supporting infrastructure.
One of the most satisfying observations was the condition of the original installation.
Despite being installed almost 10 years ago(January 2026), the cameras and much of the cabling remained in good condition.
The cable insulation and protective coverings had helped preserve the installation over the years.
The original cameras were also in a condition that could allow them to be reused in another suitable location.
This demonstrates an important principle : Quality equipment combined with professional installation can deliver long-term value.
For customers, an IT installation should be considered a long-term investment rather than simply an initial equipment purchase.
Upgrading to Hikvision AcuSense AI Technology
As part of the renovation, the customer wanted to benefit from modern surveillance technology.
We upgraded the existing installation with a new Hikvision AcuSense CCTV solution, incorporating AI-assisted detection and audio/voice capabilities.
Compared with traditional CCTV systems, AcuSense technology helps improve security monitoring through intelligent detection features.
The upgrade provides:
AI-assisted human and vehicle detection capabilities
Improved identification of relevant security events
Reduced unnecessary alerts compared with traditional motion detection
Audio/voice capabilities within the selected system
A modern surveillance platform for ongoing security requirements
The objective was not simply to replace old cameras, but to modernize the customer's overall security solution.
Infrastructure Matters: A Proper Network Cabinet
Another important part of this upgrade was improving the supporting infrastructure.
We introduced a dedicated network cabinet to properly organize and protect the CCTV recording and associated network equipment.
This improvement supports better cable management, equipment protection, easier maintenance and future system expansion.
